Family Camp
Heatherdale Scout,Cub and Joey families are invited to attend our 2010 family camping event. We are welcoming and encouraging all families to attend. You may be able to participate for one or two nights or we are close enough to simply come along for a day trip if you are unable to stay overnight! Longridge Park: is in Warrandyte beside the Yarra River. Aptly named, the long ridge through this park offers spectacular and breathtaking views of the Yarra River and surrounds. Eastern Grey Kangaroos are frequently seen in the area and a quiet visitor may also spot platypus playing in the river. Cushioned between the Yarra River and the surrounding slopes, the river flats have been established as the perfect camping retreat. How to get there: See Parks Victoria Web Site ‘Longridge Park Visitor Guide’ or ask your section leader. Camping Fees: Per Family: $20 for 1 night or $35 for two nights As this is a family camp, you are responsible for your own children and you will need to bring all the camping equipment/food you require. The Scouts do have tents available if you should need to borrow one. (Please see your Leaders.) There is a BBQ and hot water available as well as showers and toilet facilities for your convenience. Contact your sections leader for more details. |
