Joey Scouts are boys and girls aged 5 (if they have started school) or 6 up to 8 years old. They usually meet on Mondays from 5.30pm - 6.30pm during school terms.
General format of the Monday session: - usually based on a theme:
(e.g. Science, Collections, Mothers’ night, Grandparents’ night, Fathers’ night, 1st Aid/Emergency/000, Dinosaurs, Australiana, Pirates, Out of Space, International Cultures & Foods, Music, Disabilities/Differences, Anzac, Winter, Olympics, Stretchy, Make-Believe/Theatre, Pets, Science Fiction) - usually includes:
- games (indoor or outdoor);
- crafts (e.g. woodwork, making from recycled stuff), &/or
- activities (e.g.“pull apart computer equipment”, cooking or sampling, lego, science, show & tell)
Excursions: Occasional trips away from the hall (e.g. vet, police station, train station, navigation walk, library, Town Hall) (optional)
Extra Activities/Camps - sometimes there will be opportunities to do: - extra activities (e.g. Zoo visit (with the family), walk around the city – includes the family),
- sleepovers
- or a family camp (with the family & the whole group)
