There are a number of costs to run our Group & one way to offset having to self fund this from families pockets is to fundraise. These funds enables us to buy new gear, provide leader training and run the group.
NOTE: Our Group Committee are very mindful that we need to raise funds from outside the Group (not our own pockets) in a manner that is healthy and wise - and believe that this is a better method than selling chocolates and cookie dough. These funds go to many things - allowing our group to be one of the biggest and best in the District - our stretch tent “Big Red” (pictured above) was purchased via Fundraising.
Monster Raffle
With some great prizes on offer, the Monster Raffle is now open in 2024. This is a digital raffle, which means that there are no paper tickets and all sales happen online.
All proceeds from the tickets sold via the 1st Heatherdale link come back to the 1st Heatherdale Scout Group - so this is a great way to support your local Scout Group.

Bunnings BBQ's
With support from the Nunawading Bunnings we generally run 2 or 3 BBQ's per year to assist in group funds.
They are a great way to bond with other scout families and build life long friendships.
A shift of 3 hours is all it takes to make a huge difference.
Tax Deductible Donation
Did you know you can also support 1st Heatherdale by making a donation via Scouts Victoria.
Go to scoutsvictoria.com.au, click on the Donate Today button on the home page, and make sure that you indicate in the Notes the name of your CHILD and that the donation is intended for 1st Heatherdale.
This way you will receive a receipt, 1st Heatherdale will receive your donation and your donation will be tax deductible. It will also be helpful for the Treasurer to know that you’ve made a donation in this way – so please send an email to treasurer.1stheatherdale@scoutsvictoria.com.au as well.
