Following the successful resumption of Suburban Adventure Racing in 2024, we are please to announce that we are continuing the series, making a total of 10 events to be held at 10 different locations throughout the Whitehorse area and beyond. The series will be hosted and run by 1st Heatherdale Scout Group.
Modelled on the sport of rogaining, Adventure Racing is a navigation sport where you visit checkpoints marked on a map. You can run or walk, you can go alone or as part of a team, you can take the dog or, if you wish, push a pram. In all cases, the challenge is to visit as many checkpoints as you can in 60 minutes. If you take longer, you will lose points.
The course will be run using an RFID tag and scanners (previously we used punch controls and cards). If you are new to the sport or you just cannot remember how it all works, we will have a group of friendly volunteers at the start of all events to run through the rules, provide practical tips and answer any questions.
