Scouts

The Scout section is for boys and girls aged 11 to 14 years old.

Our Scouts meet on Thursday nights from 7.00pm – 8.45pm. An overview of the year's events can be found on the calendar. Program planning is a responsibility of the Unit Council.

Scouts all wear a uniform which allows members to be identified as part of the group. An award scheme encourages participation in a full range of activities and provides recognition of individual achievement through the issuing of badges.

Usually a Scout Unit has 18 to 24 Scouts, organised into three or four groups of six Scouts called a Patrol. Each Patrol is named after an animal, and is led by an older Scout called a ‘Patrol Leader’, and assisted by an ‘Assistant Patrol Leader’.

Our Scout Leaders all have Scouting names which they have chosen. Scouts address the leaders by their Scouting Name rather than their civilian name. Contact details for all of the Group's leaders can be found on the Leaders page.

A new member will normally try out for at least 3-4 weeks before they are invested and put into uniform. A new member must complete the Prospective Youth Member form prior to commencing.
