Welcome back Karrawurra!

Karrawurra is the name of our second Cub Unit. That's right we are excited to announce that this term we are starting up a second Cub Unit on Wednesday nights and it will be called Karrawurra - a name that has previously been used in this context at 1st Heatherdale.

Karrawurra is an Aboriginal term meaning eaglehawk (or wedge-tailed eagle).

The two Cub Units (Arunga - Monday night and Karrawurra - Wednesday night) will run the same program each week and we will endeavour to hold a joint activity at least once a term.

We currently have 4 leaders and 2 regular parent helpers. To provide the best experience for our cubs, we would ideally like to have at least 8 leaders and 4 regular parent helpers.

We have not decided on the final allocation of leaders and parent helpers to each unit and for the duration of term 2, we will all support both units across both nights. This will mean that you will see a combination of leaders and helpers on your allocated nights. We hope that in term 3 and with the addition of more leaders, we will be able to settle in a more permanent routine with allocated leaders and helpers on a specific night.

In addition to this, we will be running a weekly parent roster so that all families become involved in the great work we are doing 1st Heatherdale.
