Welcome
Welcome
The 1st Heatherdale Scout Group warmly welcomes your family into our Scout Group and the Scouting Community. We look forward to a long and happy association with your family. You can read more about the Group and the Organisation.
Membership and Registration
Within the group we have Joey Scouts (5-8 years old) which meet on Mondays from 5:30pm - 6:30pm, Cub Scouts (8-11 years old) which meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:45pm - 8:15pm, Scouts (11-14 years old) which meet on Thursdays from 7:00pm - 8:45pm and Venturer Scouts (14-18 years old) which meet on Tuesdays from 7:30pm - 9:30pm. For more details about ages and progression between sections see Youth Members.
Normally a new starter will come along to the Section they are interested in joining for a couple of weeks before being asked to make a financial commitment. See Group Fees for details about the current fees. A uniform appropriate to the section (Joey Scout Uniform, Cub Scout Uniform, Scout Uniform or Venturer Uniform) will need to be purchased. After fees have been paid the new member will be registered with Scouts Victoria. Once the uniform has been purchased, the new member will be invested and will be asked to make the Scout Promise and undertake to live by the Scout Law (see Promise and Law).

How Can I Help?
This Scout Group is run entirely by volunteers and it is only as good as you help make it! All families are expected to contribute to the Group by taking part in one or more of the following activities/roles:
Adult Supporter - required if you intend to be part of any overnight activities
Committee Member - help ensure that the Group has the necessary equipment and resources in place
Fundraising - opportunities to help raise funds for the Group
Hall Cleaning - all families are rostered on not more than once per year
Leader - uniform and training supplied!
